SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - MIDDLEWARE

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Software Engineer - Middleware, is responsible for performing systems analysis, design and programming tasks needed to provide systems solutions to business needs, and for troubleshooting issues which disrupt day to day operations. Maintain and enhance current applications and participate in the implementation of new systems/modules.

MAIN DUTIES:

Perform systems analysis in order to provide systems solutions to users needs.
Perform design and programming needed to implement solutions.
Design, develop and maintain Java or .NET solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL store procedures and packages.
Work independently or on a team to create and support application subsystems.
Troubleshoot complex technical and business logic issues (e.g. decompose multi-tier application problems into architectural components).
Independently produce creative solutions to business problems.
Lead the activities of a small team of technologists on specific development or troubleshooting efforts.
Develop and maintain an understanding of the business rules and needs supported by FCH systems.
Maintain an understanding of current database programming tools and trends.
Maintain an understanding of current n-tier architecture patterns, tools, and solutions (e.g. web services, application servers, web servers, rule engines, etc).

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 10 years software engineering experience; Minimum of 5 years of design, development, and support experience in a distributed environment (i.e. SOA, 3-tier or n-tier, web services).
Knowledge of web technologies (.NET, JAVA, Web Services) and experience architecting distributed solutions.
Broad technical knowledge in object-oriented design and implementation, design patterns, and software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, XP).
Experience designing and implementing reusable, multi-threaded software components.
Experience with prototyping and rapid application development.
Minimum of 5 years of development experience in either Java or .NET.
Minimum of 5 years of development experience in an MS Windows environment.
Minimum of 5 years of development experience in a UNIX (or LINUX) environment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with PL/SQL.
Proven excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Self-sufficiency using Windows based applications (MS Office).
