ELIGIBILITY, COBRA and ADMINISTRATIVE FEE BILLING SPECIALIST - Temporary Position - Seattle Office

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining the integrity and management of TPA client eligibility and COBRA administration.  Coordinate business processes to provide seamless operations of eligibility and COBRA administration. Generate monthly administrative fee statements accurately and in a timely manner each month.

MAIN DUTIES:
Eligibility
  • Implement and maintain client group and eligibility structure in Diamond.
  • Coordinate, with TPA client, monthly eligibility additions, terms and changes. Track client preferred eligibility submission process. (Paper versus EDI) Identify and report EDI errors.
  • Provide client specific eligibility reconciliation when requested.
  • Produce and mail participant ID cards twice weekly. Ensure ID card stock is maintained to support business fluctuations.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all clients related to their eligibility issues or concerns.
COBRA
  • Manage and facilitate all aspects of COBRA administration according to client administrative service agreement and COBRA federal regulations.
  • Facilitate and report monthly COBRA premium billing.
  • Maintain COBRA eligibility accordingly.
  • Work with TPA Operations team to identify improvements to automate the COBRA administrative process.
  • Plan and manage projects for engineering business practices for operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Billing
  • Generate Administrative Fee statements to each client every month.
  • Apply COBRA premium payments for each client, either working with finance to generate a check or applying the amount as a credit on future administrative statements.
  • Serve as point of contact for billing concerns from client.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • AA degree or equivalent experience and strong background in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in COBRA administration necessary.
  • 3 to 5 years administrative fee billing in a healthcare setting required.
  • Experience in eligibility preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of team.
  • Strong customer service background, working with both internal and external customers.
  • Prior experience in process improvement methodology.
  • Prior experience in project management.
  • Prior experience in mainframe and/or PC based information systems and data reporting two year minimum.
