Health Reimbursement Arrangement Administration
FCHA administers Health Reimbursement Arrangements for employer
sponsors who choose to offer this funding option as a benefit to their employees. Our
automated system monitors and pay claims for members based on the availability of HRA
funds. Members have instant access to HRA claims status and account balances through
myFirstChoice.
Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Defined
The HRA is an account used to pay for routine medical care
as outlined in the group’s plan design. It is typically offered with a “higher” deductible
medical plan. Medical expenses will be withdrawn from the employer-funded HRA before
accessing the member’s responsibility (called the Bridge).

- Unused funds roll over from year to year.
- Claims payment occurs automatically based on available HRA funds.
HRA Enrollment
Enrollment in an HRA occurs automatically upon election of
a health plan that is offered in coordination with an HRA.
HRA Reimbursement
There is no need to file claims and wait for reimbursements.
Your claims will automatically be paid directly from your HRA funds. If there are no
HRA funds available, your claim is processed as usual.
