Announcing new senior hires, Anisha Sood and Gordon Thomson, focused on growth and innovation
First Choice Health (FCH), a forward-thinking provider-owned health benefits company, has announced the hires of two key strategic roles aimed at designing the best strategies and programs that will support employers of all sizes in building a care management plan to suit their unique healthcare needs.
Anisha Sood has been named Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, who will be charged with identifying, developing and maintaining external partnerships, while Gordon Thomson has been named Strategic Program Director, tasked with helping FCH increase its cost advantage and dramatically improving the pace and receptivity to change.
"A major component of connecting people to high quality care is making sure we are adaptable and can incorporate the most innovative ideas from inside and outside of the company," said Jaja Okigwe, CEO and President of FCH. "First Choice Health brought on Anisha Sood and Gordon Thomson because of their creativity, ability to move quickly and desire to improve healthcare. I couldn't be more confident that they will put our clients' priorities first in every decision they make."
Sood previously worked at healthcare investment firm Echo Health Ventures, where she was a partner, focusing on accelerating healthcare innovation through venture capital and growth equity investing. Prior to Echo Health Ventures, Sood was an assistant director and principal of strategic investments at Cambia Health Solutions, and vice president of healthcare investment banking at Credit Suisse.
"I'm thrilled to take on this new challenge with First Choice Health, which will allow me to work closely with an amazing leadership team intent on growing the organization in fresh and unique ways," said Sood. "I look forward to helping lead the team in our mutual goal of providing smarter and more affordable healthcare to all of our clients."
Prior to joining FCH, Thomson had leadership roles in health plans for over 25 years - touching areas including operations, information technology, consulting, strategy and Innovation. Previously at Premera Blue Cross for 17 years, he most recently served as lead consultant for innovation and in earlier roles as senior strategic relationship manager and information technology director.
"I've spent my career developing new ways to drive thinking and incubate creative solutions within an organization, and I'm eager to take those experiences and processes into my new role with First Choice Health," Thomson said. "This is an organization that has already begun taking great leaps in terms of finding innovative and efficient ways to deliver the best healthcare solutions to employers, and I'm excited to join the team."
