David Hines
Executive Director of Employee Benefits, Metro Nashville Public Schools
David's career started at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee in claim's management. He went on to serve as the Director of Operations for the State of Tennessee Employee Health Plans; Benefit Manager for Nissan Motor Manufacturing; benefits consultant; Insurance Director for Rutherford County, TN and now as Executive Director of Benefits for Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS).
While at MNPS he established a network of primary care clinics to serve their employees, retirees and their dependents. In 2017, he opened MNPS' first integrated health and wellness facility, combining primary care, behavioral health, health coaching, fitness, physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture and pharmacy. His current work extends to creating greater access to specialty care through clinic-based telehealth and the development and expansion of value-based care, including adoption of bundled payment programs for medical services ranging from maternity care to surgical weight loss.
David serves on the boards of HealthcareTN, the State and Local Government Benefit Association and the National Association of Worksite Health Centers. -

Martha E. Shepherd, DO, MPH, FAAFP
Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics, VUMC Office of Population Health & Medical Director, Vanderbilt Health at MNPS
Dr. Shepherd is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completed a Family Medicine internship at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, residency at The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, and a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona.
Dr. Shepherd is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine and holds a Master of Public Health from Dartmouth College. She is the medical director for Vanderbilt Health at Metro Nashville Public Schools Employee and Family Healthcare Centers. Her interests include population health, employer health and leveraging technology to improve quality of care while enhancing the experience of patients and providers. Her work stresses the importance of effective health communication and including patients in their care plan through the use of shared decision-making tools and evidence-based clinical care paths.
Dr. Shepherd has served as an Estar Ambassador and as a Clinician Champion Group member at VUMC. She provides clinical input to teams who are engaged in shaping population health tools within Estar and developing tableau-based dashboards for quality metrics. She has also worked on a task force to integrate ocular telemedicine into Estar, providing patients with improved access to diabetic retinopathy screening from primary care sites across the institution.

Teke Drummond

Teke Drummond is the Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, where he creates strategic relationships with employers and develops services to enhance the value of healthcare. Mr. Drummond is a physical therapist with a bachelor's degree from Juniata College and master's degree from Drexel University. He is also a Navy veteran, graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School Executive Healthcare Management Program, and holds an MBA from Lebanon Valley College. He has acquired over 25 years of health care leadership experiences, presented at national conferences, and has been an adjunct faculty at West Virginia University, Lebanon Valley College, and Pennsylvania College for Health Sciences. Mr. Drummond devotes much of his time to furthering community development through board positions with Lancaster City Alliance, YMCA of the Roses, Lancaster Safety Coalition, Preferred Health Care, the Aspire Ventures Smart Health Innovation Lab, and the Juniata College Alumni Council.

Donny Lawrence
Vice President of Business Development, Ochsner Health System
As the Vice President of Business Development for Ochsner Health System, Donny is responsible for ensuring profitable growth within all sectors in the health care industry. Donny prioritizes his efforts in partnering with local, regional and national employers engaging with them to offer solutions designed to increase overall health and reduce the overall costs of health care. Donny also focuses on patient acquisition , health system and provider partnerships around Ochsner Health's Center's of Clinical Excellence.
Prior to the last 8 years in Business Development, Donny was responsible for various Revenue Cycle operations over a 12 year period. These areas included Ochsner's Revenue Integrity Department, Revenue Cycle Analytics, Denials Management, Underpayment Recovery and Revenue Cycle Systems Support.
Donny received his Bachelor's of Business Administration from Loyola University New Orleans and his Master's of Science in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans. Donny and his wife Emily, also a leader at Ochsner, live in New Orleans with their 4 children.

Mike Romano, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Nebraska Health Network
Dr. Mike Romano is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the Nebraska Health Network, an accountable care organization in Omaha, NE. He has worked as a physician executive in a wide variety of positions since 1998. He received his MD in 1983 from Creighton University in Omaha; completed residency training in Family Medicine at Creighton in 1986 and completed his Masters of Healthcare Administration in 1998 from Bellevue University. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. He is a Past President of the Iowa Medical Society; the 2015 Robert Raszkowski Hero Award winner for his service to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education; Board Chair of the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative and chair of the Continuing Medical Education committees for both the Nebraska Medical Association and the Iowa Medical Society.
