Executive Management

Jaja Okigwe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Jaja Okigwe joined First Choice Health in April 2018 as CEO. With 20 years of healthcare industry experience, Jaja brings with him a portfolio of expertise that drive our strategy and innovation. He previously worked with Premera Blue Cross serving as Director of Operations, then Vice President of Special Products Development where he led the strategic planning for Stop Loss that resulted in a 20 percent increase in new business. In 2007, he assumed the role of Vice President of Strategic Development, and in 2014 was promoted to Senior Vice President of that same division. Jaja is well positioned to lead First Choice Health as we continue to adapt and innovate in the ever-changing health landscape.

John Robinson, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Robinson oversees medical management and predictive modeling within the Healthcare Analytics and Quality programs. Prior to joining First Choice Health, he was the VP of Medical Management and the Chief Medical Officer at Molina Healthcare of WA. Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Robinson is an adjunct faculty member at Gonzaga University and has taught MBA courses at the Graduate School of Business. In 2011, he was appointed by the Governor of the State of Washington to be one of the original members of the Bree Collaborative.

Curtis Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer

Curtis has more than 30 years' experience in health plan administration, plan consulting, and contract execution for all stakeholders in the healthcare arena. Prior to First Choice Health, Curtis worked with Premera Blue Cross, led the market for Marsh Mercer consulting practice for health benefits and property casualty, and built the strategy and delivery model for Community Health Services in the Pacific Northwest. Curtis drives our team to bring solutions to the marketplace for all stakeholders in the self-insured market.

Anisha Sood, Chief Financial and Strategy Officer

Anisha provides oversight of finance, strategy and corporate development. She joined First Choice Health in 2019 as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, having previously served as a partner at healthcare investment firm Echo Health Ventures, a principal in Cambia Health Solutions' strategic investments group and Vice President of Healthcare Investment Banking at Credit Suisse. Anisha has played a key role in accelerating our partnership efforts and negotiating unique agreements for telehealth, data and analytics solutions, and concierge services.

Dan Brown, Chief Technology Officer

Dan joined First Choice Health in 2019, bringing more than 22 years of experience in information technology. He spent four years as Vice President of Enterprise Solutions at ProKarma, where he helped companies in the Pacific Northwest solve their most difficult technology problems. Prior to ProKarma, Brown served as the Director of Enterprise Architecture, Solution Engineering and Technology Strategy at Premera Blue Cross, where he guided the company's tech strategies for more than six years.

Jacqueline Brainard, VP of Operations and Compliance Officer, Attorney-At-Law

Jacque joined First Choice Health in 2010 as Vice President, Operations and Compliance Officer. She has over 30 years of financial, audit, compliance, and administrative experience as a leader in employee benefits, managed care (HMO, PPO, TPA), insurance and reinsurance industries. In addition to operations, she is responsible for Compliance. Jacque's prior roles have included financial and compliance, along with administrative oversight of reinsurance, enrollment and billing, premium billing and collection, claims, human resources, and management information systems.

Kevin Conefrey, VP of HR and Corporate Resources

Kevin has been with First Choice Health since 2011. He has over 15 years of executive HR leadership with a focus on organizational effectiveness and health benefits plan design. He earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of Oregon, with his graduate degree concentration in labor relations and human resources.

Warren Maxwell, VP of Finance

Warren has spent his career in finance, including the most recent 12 years in the healthcare industry. Warren has been with First Choice Health since 2005 and previously held the position of Controller. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from the University of Washington, and is a licensed CPA.

Sara Kasper, VP of Account Management

Sara has been with First Choice Health for 15 years, initially serving as the Vice President of HPA Operations and Account Management. Sara has gained in-depth experience and a passion for customer service working in different capacities for health delivery systems for more than 30 years, including Group Health, Pacific Medical Clinics, and California Pacific-San Francisco. Sara's strong background provides her with great insight and understanding of working with integrated health systems.

Shruti Singal, MD, VP of Medical Management

Dr. Singal joined First Choice Health in 2020 as VP, Medical Management. She is an Emergency Medicine physician with over 20 years of clinical experience. She currently also serves as a Regional Consulting Physician for CVS Health. Prior to First Choice Health, she was a Medical Director at Anthem and an attending at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Ga. She brings with her a passion for improving member access, outcomes and quality through innovation and reimagination.

Ron Cornell, Director of Product Innovation

Ron joined First Choice Health in 2018. With more than 20 years of experience leading initiatives in product research, design, testing and development for various healthcare markets, Ron has spent much of his career influencing, engaging, and working directly with C-suite customers from government, managed care, pharmaceutical, and technology sectors. He previously served as a strategy and marketing consultant for numerous healthcare startups in New York City and Seattle, before transitioning to Premera Blue Cross in marketing, innovation, and strategic development roles.
