First Choice Health EAP is excited to announce we're adding an innovative new telehealth technology that will greatly improve behavioral health access for our 600+ clients. The platform is offered through online counseling partner BetterHelp, which will connect EAP members to the world's largest online behavioral health network.

Employers are struggling with the best ways to address employee behavioral health concerns due to lack of access and timely care. Recent reports and studies including startling data affecting the U.S. workforce:

  • Depression and anxiety disorders cost the global economy US$ 1 trillion each year in lost productivity.
  • 6-7% of full-time U.S. workers experienced major depression within the past year.
  • Employee mental health costs rise twice as fast as all other medical expenses.

Behavioral health is a critical issue for today's workforce yet limited provider access is a national issue. At First Choice Health, we're continuously striving to address behavioral health in more direct and valuable ways to our clients, and this new virtual therapy technology will do just that. Adding the BetterHelp online platform dramatically increases availability for our EAP clients and makes connecting with a behavioral health professional as flexible and efficient as possible.

After contacting FCH EAP to get started, members will then be connected to a global network of more than 3,000 licensed behavioral health providers to address their concerns at any hour of the day, in a variety of different languages. Access to this program can include exchanging messaging, chatting live, speaking over the phone or secure video conferencing.

While the great customer service that FCH EAP provides will not change, we are taking the extra steps necessary to meet clients where and when they need to be met and to ensure that their mental health and well-being are addressed.
